3C
3C
- Marking found on the vial of green substance from the opening sessions.
- In Session 9, Lyra Valmora identified it as a precursor to silver, not a countermeasure.
- Still unresolved beyond that label and function.
a crown that blinds the sun
A Crown That Blinds the Sun
- Phrase from dragon lore warning that the Red Wizards of Thay bring this crown toward Accardi.
- Almost certainly a major future threat item or ritual focus.
Accardi
Accardi
Summary
- One of the campaign's main hubs.
- Destination for the satchel and home to many current leads.
- Also appears to have been used as testing grounds for silver.
- Best overview note: Accardi Power Map.
Key sublocations
Key people
Open threads
- Black dragon fall near the city.
- The Dragon Fall Vision suggests an older dragon fall tied directly to Accardi's symbol and a one-eyed woman.
- Underground activity tied to Ashbringers and vampires.
- Transport and distribution of silver.
- The Session 9 Drena thread suggests the city's hidden network overlaps directly with public religious space in the Temple Quarter.
Related notes
Accardi Power Map
Accardi Power Map
Core idea
Accardi is the campaign's main city hub because several separate power structures overlap there instead of one clear ruling story:
- the silver distribution network
- the vampire conflict tied to Westgate
- the Ashbringers and Ashbringer
- the archive / surveillance thread around Drena and the satchel
- the occult undercity thread around Ashbringers Basement
Key people and their pressure points
Drena
- Original destination for the satchel.
- Connected to the phrase "archive bled open."
- Probably tied to archive, overwatch, or surveillance structures in Accardi.
- By Session 9, appears publicly in the Temple Quarter church rather than only as an off-stage shadow contact.
- Ends Session 9 by reciting the same prayer line once heard during the earlier Pit chant sequence.
Kel Arin
- Merchant, sculptor, fixer, and manipulator.
- Connected to the Bone Gallery, Upper City, the red nail, and the creation of the skeleton ball.
- Sits between commerce, violence, containment, and hidden access.
Lyra Valmora
- Link between Accardi and Westgate.
- Provides operational information about silver, transport plans, and vampire-related matters.
- Took custody of or interest in Ontarr and the tower findings.
- Is framed by Myrella Report as a major containment problem tied to silver distribution across multiple sectors.
Jonathan
- Minor-seeming local contact who unexpectedly becomes an access broker into the Temple Quarter.
- Shows that movement through the city is partly controlled by hidden routes, not just public permits.
Val
- Occult-information source.
- Knows about The Black Sun Sect, Halvin, the black wound, Ashbringer, and improved silver.
- Feels less like a normal city contact and more like a lore gatekeeper.
Key factions and pressures
Ashbringers
- Active in or under the city, especially around the Temple Quarter.
- Connected to Ashbringer, falling dragon, and spiral.
- Their documents show direct coordination with Westgate.
Red Wizards of Thay
- Introduced or accelerated the spread of silver in the city.
- Likely represent a more organized geopolitical threat than the local cults.
Vampire conflict
- Lyra Valmora, Arabella, Kel Arin, and Val all touch this thread from different angles.
- The city seems to be part of a larger struggle that extends into Westgate.
Important sites
- Bone Gallery - Kel Arin's sphere of influence
- Temple Quarter - rumored Ashbringers presence
- Upper Quarter - high-status access zone tied to permits, presentation, and controlled movement
- Ashbringers Basement - hidden drow / ritual site beneath the city
- Candlecrypt - underused but notable contact point through Yara
- The Slums - first entry zone and rumor hub
Main city tensions
- Archive / surveillance - Drena, the satchel, Project Spiral Memo, Script Commentary, and now Myrella Report
- Cult escalation - Ashbringers, Ashbringer, spiral, and the red nail
- Vampire war - Lyra Valmora, Arabella, and Westgate
- Hidden undercity ritual danger - Ashbringers Basement, Vel'shara, The Rite, and The Codex
- Chemical / social destabilization - silver testing grounds and wider rollout
Open questions
- What does Drena actually do inside the city's hidden structure?
- How does Drena's public Temple Quarter role fit with her older secret-contact framing?
- How much of Kel Arin's work is private profiteering versus faction service?
- Is Lyra Valmora an ally, an opportunist, or both?
- Why does at least one external system describe Lyra as a containment problem?
- How much of Accardi is being actively shaped by spiral rather than normal politics?
Agenda Avengers
Agenda Avengers
- Organization claimed by Harper.
- Connected to Harper's future origin and the strange technology recovered near Ontarr.
- Project Spiral Memo cites an "AA Bureau", which may be tied to the same organization.
Anchor
Anchor
- The term appears in Script Commentary, which says "they have taken the Anchor to the City of Veils."
- Project Spiral Memo separately describes Kavax as the party's "physical anchor."
- Myrella Report refers to a dimensional anchor signature directly, suggesting the Anchor may be a monitored measurable phenomenon rather than only metaphor or coded title.
- Based on current notes, Kavax is the strongest candidate for what the handouts mean by the Anchor, but the exact role or metaphysical function is still unclear.
- The mention of a missing "biological redundant (TWIN)" may point to some kind of counterpart, duplicate, or impersonation around Kavax, but does not prove a literal twin.
- Relevant evidence currently includes both the hostile duplicate from the Westgate Opening Incident and the separate Kavax Framing Thread.
- Best synthesis note: Spiral Metaplot.
Arabella
Arabella
- Vampire found pinned in the Ruined Monastery with the red nail.
- Released when Butis removed the nail.
- Later identified by Kel Arin and linked to the same anti-vampire containment effort.
- Directly tied to Butis's black wound.
Arya
Arya
- Party paladin.
- Carries the area map for Accardi and Sky Tomb.
- Searching for Lyra Valmora and later interacted with her directly.
- Helped transport Ontarr's body after the events in the Ruined Monastery.
- Project Spiral Memo says she is closer to the truth than her Order permits and ties her to the search around Ontarr and the "Monastery's heart."
Ashbringer
Ashbringer
- Figure worshipped after surviving or emerging from a dragon catastrophe in Westgate.
- Associated with the Ashbringers and the falling dragon symbol.
- Said to reduce people to ash with a glance.
- AB are Ashbringer's initials.
- Also associated with the symbol spiral.
- Ashbringer Letter shows him directly issuing instructions to followers in Accardi.

To my brothers in Accardi
The "Red Nail" has been recovered by the interlopers. This is good. Let them hold it; it will act as a lightning rod for the Spiral. Continue the "Peeling" of the locals. If they do not forget their names they cannot accept the New Light.
I will be sending the High-Instructors from Westgate shortly. They will show you how to properly apply the "Dragon's Kiss" to the marrow.
Be ready. The fire is coming home.

Notes
- Strongly confirms Ashbringer is giving orders to followers in Accardi.
- Links red nail, spiral, and Westgate directly to the Ashbringers.
Ashbringers
Ashbringers
- Cult built around Ashbringer.
- Associated with the falling dragon emblem and possibly the symbol spiral.
- Rumored to have at least one base under or within Accardi.
- Ashbringer Letter shows they were ordered to keep "peeling" locals, prepare for High-Instructors from Westgate, and use the red nail as part of the Spiral.

Ashbringers Basement Library
Ashbringers Basement Library
- Library space inside Ashbringers Basement damaged by an arcane blast.
- Marked by cold walls, six bodies, and a deep void leaking Far Realm energy.
- Source of books and letters tied to Vel'shara, The Rite, The Codex, fragment, Thren, and Naez.
- After the Session 9 altar destruction, the smoke and overall feel around the void seemed to calm somewhat, though the pit remains unresolved.

- Initiate fallback to Velorum route
- DO NOT engage [redacted] phenomena without psychic shielding
- [something] under cathedral must remain undisturbed
Further information redacted by command of [redacted]
Report ends.
Strongest usable clues
- Atrium access was unauthorized and the logs were overwritten.
- A containment ritual failed and caused temporal dissonance, which fits the time-freeze behavior in the Westgate Opening Incident.
- Something may have been released from a central archive.
- The report may reference Drena under the spelling "Drenna", but that is not yet fully certain.
- Something under a cathedral was important enough to be explicitly left undisturbed.
Notes
- OCR is partial and some lines remain corrupted, so uncertain details are preserved as uncertain rather than normalized into canon.

Automaton
- The canister core recovered with the tiefling is believed to be part of an automaton.
- This is currently a technological mystery rather than a fully explained setting element.
black wound
Black Wound
- Supernatural wound carried by Butis and later Light.
- Connected to The Black Sun Sect and a limited survival window.
- May grant powers while also moving the victim closer to death or transformation.
- Session 9 introduces related black-liquid / black-blood altar effects around Vel'shara, though it is not yet clear whether those are the same condition or only adjacent corruption.
Bone Gallery

Campaign Timeline
Campaign Timeline
Session chronology
- Session 0 & Session 1 - 2025-04-06 / 2025-04-13
The campaign opens in Westgate with the Westgate Opening Incident: an explosion in a major civic building, a time freeze that does not affect the party, and an escape into the sewers with Sela and Rowan. Before dying, they pass over the satchel for Drena, the phrase "archive bled open," the 3C vial, and the first clue that the satchel is marked Y.K.. The party also finds Atrium Breach Report and kills a hostile Kavax lookalike in an underground lab that may have been part of a clone-breeding setup. - Session 1 - 2025-06-29
The party reaches Sky Tomb, finds the M key, and starts the early Pit / Mathesias thread. - Session 2 - 2025-10-26
Esmeralda joins, Lyra Valmora is named as a lead, and the party defeats the Skeleton King. - Session 3 - 2025-11-22
Butis finds the obsidian key. Dragon lore warns of a crown that blinds the sun moving toward Accardi. The party arrives in Accardi after a recorded two-month gap. - Session 4 - 2025-12-20
Kel Arin becomes central, the city-wide silver problem becomes clearer, and the party is sent to the Ruined Monastery for the red nail. - Session 5 - 2025-12-27
The party finds Ontarr, Harper's future-tech clues, kills the skeleton ball, and frees Arabella by removing the red nail. - Session 6 - 2026-01-31
Butis is marked with the black wound. The party finds the Ashbringer Letter, learns more about Ashbringer, and gets major reveals from Val. - Session 7 - 2026-02-14
Lyra Valmora provides more context on silver and Westgate. Kel Arin confirms he created the skeleton ball. The party opens the satchel, finds Project Spiral Memo and Script Commentary, and discovers Ashbringers Basement. - Session 8 - 2026-04-11
The party uncovers Vel'shara, The Rite, The Codex, and the fragment in Ashbringers Basement / Ashbringers Basement Library. Light sees The King in Yellow, and the party realizes the satchel's Y.K. initials point to him. - Session 9 - 2026-04-25
The party kills Vel'shara, disrupts the altar system beneath Accardi, and receives Myrella Report through the satchel, implying the container is still actively connected to the larger network. They also move closer to Drena through the Temple Quarter / Upper Quarter route and hear new claims that Ontarr was only made to appear dead.
In-world progression
- The party begins with the unresolved aftermath of the Westgate Opening Incident and the mission to deliver the satchel to Drena in Accardi.
- The Sky Tomb and dragon-grave material lead toward Accardi, the Red Wizards of Thay, and a crown that blinds the sun.
- Once in Accardi, the campaign splits into several overlapping arcs:
- the silver distribution and Westgate threat
- vampire and anti-vampire conflicts around Lyra Valmora, Arabella, and Kel Arin
- the hidden-site arc involving Ashbringers Basement, The Rite, and The Codex
- the meta-textual spiral / Anchor / The King in Yellow thread
- By Session 9, the satchel thread becomes active again: instead of only holding old clues, it starts delivering new material while the party finally closes on Drena's visible position in the city.
Time anomalies
- Harper claims to come from the future, specifically 2125.
- Project Spiral Memo contains the Project Spiral Date Anomaly: it was dated exactly to the day the party opened the satchel, despite the satchel having been carried for months.

City of Veils
City of Veils
- Mentioned in Script Commentary as the place where the Anchor was taken.
- No other handout or session note uses the name directly yet.
- It may be a hidden, symbolic, alternate, or coded name for a known city, but the vault does not currently confirm which one.
- Because Project Spiral Memo is centered on Accardi and also references the Anchor, Accardi is the closest current candidate, though this remains unconfirmed.
containment magic
Containment Magic
Deep Speech
Deep Speech
- Language of the hidden writing found near Vel'shara's chambers in Ashbringers Basement.
- Nobody in the party currently understands it.
Dragon Fall Vision
Dragon Fall Vision
Source
- Seen in Session 3 when the party touched the dragon at the grave site associated with Nivaryx the Umbra.
Vision summary
- A woman's voice says: "I trusted you."
- Six people chant for the dragon to fall.
- A one-eyed woman bearing the symbol of Accardi says: "forgive me, this is the only way."
Why it matters
- The vision ties a dragon-fall event directly to Accardi.
- It suggests the fall was not accidental, but the result of an organized ritual or coordinated act.
- The one-eyed woman may be a specific historical figure, a symbolic representative of the city, or someone tied to later events around dragon falls.
Open questions
- Which dragon is shown in the vision?
- Who is the one-eyed woman with the Accardi symbol?
- Are the six chanters linked to a known faction, order, or city leadership?
- How does this vision connect to the later black dragon fall near Temple Quarter?
Drena
Drena
Summary
- Contact in Accardi and one of the oldest unresolved figures in the campaign.
- The party was told to bring the satchel to her and deliver the phrase "archive bled open".
- By Session 9, she appears to have a visible role in a major Temple Quarter church rather than functioning only as an off-screen contact.
Known links
- The satchel was explicitly intended for her.
- The satchel reached the party through Sela and Rowan after the Westgate Opening Incident, which suggests Drena's network reaches beyond Accardi.
- The contents of the satchel later connected her, indirectly, to Project Spiral Memo, Script Commentary, and hidden archive / surveillance structures in Accardi.
- Lyra Valmora was asked to send a message to her, which suggests she is reachable through the city's shadow network.
- The satchel later produced Myrella Report on its own, reinforcing the possibility that Drena belongs to an active communications system rather than a one-time delivery chain.
- Jonathan guided the party through hidden routes toward Drena's Session 9 meeting point in the Temple Quarter.
- She ends Session 9 by reciting the same prayer line once heard behind the Pit door: "holy warrior sits in the garden we fled, blood into wine take my body instead".
- Atrium Breach Report may refer to a compromised figure named "Drenna", which could be Drena or a closely related contact.
Why she matters
- She sits at the intersection of the campaign's earliest mission and one of its newest meta-textual revelations.
- If the satchel was always part of spiral-adjacent activity, Drena may know much more about the party than she initially appeared to.
- Her apparent public presence in the Temple Quarter complicates the idea that she is only a hidden courier endpoint.
Open questions
- What was Drena supposed to do with the satchel?
- Is she part of the archive, part of the overwatch structure, or simply a courier endpoint?
- Did she expect the satchel to be opened before delivery?
- How does her public Temple Quarter role fit with the older shadow-network framing around the satchel?
- Why is she using the same prayer line previously tied to the Pit chant?
Esmeralda
Esmeralda
- Party wizard and the newest party member.
- Took custody of the strange canister core and samples of silver.
- Found several critical documents in the Ruined Monastery and Ashbringers Basement Library.
- Project Spiral Memo warns that she is "seeing the corners of the page" and should not be engaged.
- In Session 9, she interacted with Vel'shara's altar pedestals, saw the same major vision as Light, and was left with black-vein / black-blood effects that seem related to - but not identical with - the black wound.
Faerun
Faerun
- The wider continent or world-region used as campaign context.
- Accardi, Westgate, and the Heartlands are all described relative to it.
falling dragon
Falling Dragon
- Emblem seen on a shield and later identified as a symbol of the Ashbringers.
- Useful visual clue tying scattered encounters together.
Far Realm
Far Realm
- Source of the energy discharge in the Ashbringers Basement Library.
- Associated with psychic harm, void imagery, and reality distortion.

- Currently imprisoned in The Chop Shop west of Accardi.
- Important time-sensitive lead for Butis and Light.
Harper
Harper
- Party rogue.
- Took several key clues from Sky Tomb and the tower above the Ruined Monastery crypts.
- Claims to be from the future and to belong to the Agenda Avengers.
- Carries a walkie-talkie and is looking for Trevor.
- Project Spiral Memo describes her as deployed, pending further radio instructions, and the only asset aware of the "Now."
Heartlands
Heartlands
- Northern region in Faerun mentioned as a base area for the Red Wizards of Thay.
home with no windows
Home With No Windows
- Strange location in Accardi identified simply as a church.
- Worth expanding if it becomes important again.
Jonathan
Jonathan
- Blacksmith in Accardi.
- Lost a hand because of conflict involving Kel Arin and the party's armor sale.
- In Session 9, helped the party move through a hidden underground route toward Temple Quarter and the church where Drena was expected.
Kavax
Kavax
- Party member and fighter.
- Helped the party travel through Sky Tomb, Accardi, the Ruined Monastery, and Ashbringers Basement.
- Currently tied to the party-wide investigation around silver and the changing spaces beneath Accardi.
- Project Spiral Memo names him Kavax Nemmonis and calls him the party's physical anchor.
- In the Westgate Opening Incident, the party encountered and killed a hostile man in an underground lab who looked exactly like Kavax.
- Kavax insists he does not know what that duplicate was and that he has no twin.
- By Session 9, the party is starting to read that underground lab / atrium site as possible clone breeding infrastructure rather than a single isolated double.
- A separate Kavax Framing Thread suggests someone also used Kavax's appearance and signature on a shipping contract to frame him.
- In Session 9, he shattered Vel'shara's altar statue and ended up with black liquid wrapping his weapon and arm like a second skin.
- He also began helping facilitate silver shipments toward Westgate, pulling him even deeper into the logistics side of the city conflict.
Kavax Framing Thread
Kavax Framing Thread
Known facts
- At some point, Kavax was framed by someone who looked like him.
- The framing involved a shipping contract bearing Kavax's signature or apparent signature.
- Kavax says he has no twin and does not know what the impersonation was about.
Why this matters
- This thread may be more relevant to the Project Spiral Memo line about a "biological redundant (TWIN)" than the sewer duplicate alone.
- It suggests that Kavax's identity may have been copied, forged, or replicated in more than one context.
Current uncertainty
- The framing thread and the hostile duplicate from the Westgate Opening Incident may be connected, but that connection is not yet proven.
- For now, they should be treated as related possibilities rather than the same confirmed event.
Kel Arin
Kel Arin
- Sculptor and owner of the Bone Gallery.
- Buyer of the party's loot after the Skeleton King encounter.
- Connected to the Upper City, the red nail, and the containment of Arabella.
- Responsible for creating the skeleton ball used to guard Arabella.
- May be cooperating with or exploiting the same network behind the Ashbringers conflict.
Kileran
Kileran
- Elder encountered after the dragon grave site.
- Reacted strongly when the party admitted they had left the hole unsealed.
Kvazit
Kvazit
- Identity later revealed behind the Skeleton King.
- Connected to the loot sale that led the party toward Kel Arin.
Light
Light
- Party cleric.
- Repeatedly investigated visions tied to ash, Ashbringers Basement, and unstable magic.
- Descended toward the void in the Ashbringers Basement Library and gained a black wound similar to Butis.
- Project Spiral Memo marks him as compromised and at high risk of alignment with Ashbringer.
- In Session 9, touched one of Vel'shara's altar pedestals and saw a direct vision of Lolth descending in her true form and recognizing him by name.
Lolth
Lolth
- Major drow goddess repeatedly referenced in the Ashbringers Basement arc.
- The Rite was banned by her high council, but Vel'shara believed something older than Lolth waited in the dark.
Lyra Valmora
Lyra Valmora
Summary
- Important contact tied to Accardi and Westgate.
- Originally a personal lead for Arya.
- Appears to operate close to the city's vampire and transport networks.
Known links
- Revealed or suspected to be a vampire with information about silver, Ontarr, and movement toward Westgate.
- Showed strong interest in Harper's technology and the finds from the Ruined Monastery tower.
- Received or examined Ontarr after Arya brought the body to her.
- Told the party that silver was effectively a weapon against Westgate and that Accardi had served as testing grounds.
- In Session 9, identified 3C as a precursor to silver, not a countermeasure.
- Told the party to find and kill Arabella after learning she had escaped.
- Was used as an indirect route to contact Drena.
- In Session 9, gave the party the permissions needed to move toward Upper Quarter / Temple Quarter and the church where Drena was expected to appear.
- Myrella Report frames her as "Asset Valmora," a vampire containment problem tied to silver distribution across multiple sectors.
Relationship role
- Lyra appears to bridge several otherwise separate arcs:
- Session 9 makes her look even less like a local fixer and more like a major actor viewed very differently by different factions.
Open questions
- How much of Lyra's information is self-serving?
- Is she aligned with the party, with a vampire power structure, or with a third force?
- Why is she so interested in Ontarr and Harper's devices?
- Why does an external report describe her as a containment threat rather than an ally or neutral broker?

Notes
- Delivered through the satchel in Session 9 after the container heated up and produced a new document on its own.
- Suggests the satchel is not just a locked box, but an active communications endpoint or dropbox.
- Addresses Myrella, an otherwise unknown figure tied to a dimensional anchor signature, repeated biometric corruption, and shapeshifter degradation.
- Frames Lyra Valmora as an active containment problem tied to silver distribution across multiple sectors.
- Confirms that whoever sent the report expected the addressee to continue operating in Accardi while under pursuit.

Nivaryx the Umbra
Nivaryx the Umbra
- Dragon matriarch associated with the dragon grave site before Accardi.

Ontarr
Ontarr
- Mummified body discovered in the tower linked to the Ruined Monastery.
- Found with unusual technology and sealed materials nearby.
- Began showing signs of recomposition or reanimation after being moved.
- Arya later brought the body to Lyra Valmora.
- Project Spiral Memo implies the search for Ontharr is producing more truth than intended.
- By Session 9, the party receives new information that Ontarr may never have been properly dead at all: someone may have used magic to simulate death, while at least one Baldur's Gate contact was apparently a clone rather than the real Ontarr.

Ornamented Dagger
- Dagger recovered from the dead tiefling's belongings.
- Currently only lightly documented and worth expanding if it gains further relevance.

- Reach Drena through the Session 9 Temple Quarter / Upper Quarter access route
- Untangle the spread of silver between Accardi and Westgate

- Investigate the Ruined Monastery, Ashbringers Basement, The Codex, and The Rite
- Track threats tied to Ashbringer, Ashbringers, and the black wound
Project Spiral Date Anomaly
Project Spiral Date Anomaly
- The Project Spiral Memo was dated 14 Alturiak, 1498 DR (26-02-14), exactly matching the day the party opened the satchel in Session 7.
- This is anomalous because the party had already been carrying the satchel for months, both in-game and in real-life play.
- The clue reinforces the meta-textual and reality-distorting tone already present in Script Commentary and spiral.
- It may mean the memo updates itself, was written retroactively, or only became "current" when the satchel was opened.

PROJECT: SPIRAL - ITERATION #442
DATE: 14 Alturiak, 1498 DR (26-02-14)
LOCATION: SECTOR Accardi / ARCHIVE OVERWATCH
SOURCE: THE AA BUREAU (REDACTED)
SUBJECT: RECOVERY SQUAD ALPHA - LIVE STATUS REVIEWPERSONNEL STATUS UPDATES:
ASSET: Kavax NEMMONIS
Status: STOIC / UNCHANGED
Note: Continues to serve as the physical anchor. Search for biological redundant (TWIN) yielded null results. Sector Westgate remains silent. Twin not found. Proceed as if the scale is unique.ASSET: Light (SUBJECT: GNOME CLERIC)
Status: COMPROMISED.
Note: Potential for total alignment with Ashbringer remains high. Subject is currently compromised by lingering sentimental ties. Monitor for spontaneous combustion or spiritual fracturing.ASSET: Harper
Status: DEPLOYED / PENDING.
Note: Devices delivered - await for further instructions via radio. Chronological displacement suggests she is the only asset aware of the "Now."ASSET: Butis BLACKFOOT (SUBJECT: MARKED)
Status: TERMINAL / BLACK SUN PROTOCOL.
Timer: TICK TOCK. TICK TOCK. [59 DAYS REMAINING]. The rot in the chest is surgical. The wood is carving itself into the shape we require.ASSET: Arya
Status: OBSERVATION.
Note: The search for Ontharr is yielding more than intended. Subject is closer to the truth than her Order permits. If she finds the Monastery's heart, she will cease to be a pawn.ASSET: Esmeralda

Notes
- Found inside the satchel.
- Shows the party is being actively tracked as "Recovery Squad Alpha."
- Ties spiral to a larger monitoring or manipulation project in Accardi.
- Suggests Kavax may be the current Anchor referenced elsewhere in the handouts.
- The memo's "biological redundant (TWIN)" line may connect more cleanly to the Kavax Framing Thread than to the sewer duplicate alone, though that remains unconfirmed.
- The memo is part of the Project Spiral Date Anomaly: although the party carried the satchel for months, the memo was dated to the exact day the satchel was opened, both in-game and in real-life play.
red nail
Red Nail
- Nail used to pin Arabella in the Ruined Monastery.
- Covered in runes tied to containment magic.
- Became central to the party's vampire and curse arc.
- According to Ashbringer Letter, it also acts as a lightning rod for spiral.
Red Wizards of Thay
Red Wizards of Thay
- Arrived in Accardi months before the current arc.
- Connected to the spread of silver and to warnings about a coming crown: a crown that blinds the sun.
- Described as a major hostile magical power with presence in Faerun and the Heartlands.
Rowan
Rowan
- Thief from the opening sessions.
- Emerged from the exploded building in the Westgate Opening Incident and treated the unfrozen party as accomplices.
- Fled with the party into the sewers and helped pass along the satchel mission for Drena before dying.
- Deceased alongside Sela.
Ruined Monastery
Ruined Monastery
Summary
- Ruined site outside Accardi visited in the Session 4-6 arc.
- Contains the tower where Ontarr was found and the crypts where Arabella was pinned with the red nail.
- Separate location from Ashbringers Basement, which is the hidden site beneath Accardi explored later.

runes
Runes
- Magical markings on the red nail.
- Specifically associated with containment magic.
satchel
Satchel
- Locked container the party was told to deliver to Drena in Accardi.
- One of the oldest active plot devices in the vault.
- It reached the party through the dying thieves Sela and Rowan during the aftermath of the Westgate Opening Incident.
- When the party first got it, the bottom was marked with the initials Y.K..
- Later opened with a golden key after interaction with the obsidian key.
- Contained the Project Spiral Memo and Script Commentary, which imply the party is under observation.
- The Project Spiral Memo inside showed a date anomaly: it matched the exact date the satchel was opened despite the party carrying the satchel for months.
- In Session 8, after learning about the Yellow King, the party realized the initials likely refer to him directly.
- In Session 9, the container heated up and produced Myrella Report, implying it can receive new messages rather than only hold fixed contents.
- The party now suspects the satchel functions partly as a communications dropbox tied to Drena or to the same network around her.
- Best synthesis note: Spiral Metaplot.

I remember the way the sun felt before it turned into a record of itself. We were supposed to be the audience, but they've locked us in the script. Can you feel the page turning? I can hear the quill scratching inside my own skull.
CORRECTION: The actors have stopped following the stage directions. They have taken the Anchor to the City of Veils. This was not in the original draft.
Stop looking for a cure. Stop looking for your family. They aren't missing; they were never written into this iteration. You are grieving for characters that were deleted to save space on the page.
Notes
- Also found inside the satchel.
- Appears to come from the same meta-textual framework as Project Spiral Memo.
- Mentions the Anchor, the City of Veils, iteration changes, and deleted people, but does not fully explain them.

Sela
- Thief from the opening sessions.
- Emerged from the exploded building in the Westgate Opening Incident and treated the unfrozen party as accomplices.
- Fled with the party into the sewers and helped pass along the satchel mission for Drena before dying.
- Deceased alongside Rowan.

Party members:
Kavax - Fighter (Evaldas)
Arya - Paladin (Greta)
Butis - Bard (Justinas)
Light - Cleric (Titas)
Harper - Rogue (Rita)
Sela & Rowan - thieves, deceased

Ketvirtas ant nieko
Penktas ant nieko
Kūnai sudėti penkiakampiu
Palietus auksą jis tapo dulkėmis
Butis rado obsidian key
Drakonai kalba apie Red Wizards of Thay atėjimą į Faerun, jie vyksta į Accardi ir atsineša “a crown that blinds the sun”
Palietus drakoną iškyla vaizdinys - girdisi moteriškas balsas “I trusted you”, 6 žmonės chantina, kad drakonas nukristų, moteris, be vienos akies, su Accardi simbolika, sako “forgive me, this is the only way”
Panaudojome obsidian key ir satchel užraktas kartą trakštelėjo
Gavome 3 LVL

Session 4
2025-12-20
Butis iškeitė dragonscale į dvie žvakes - viagros ir 50/50 resurrection
Kel Arin - skulptorius, owner of the Bone Gallery, gali suveikti praėjimą į Upper City
Žmonės naudoja kažkokį narkotiką, sidabrinis skystis (street name - “silver”)
Prieš 6mėn atvarė į miestą Red Wizards of Thay ir pradėjo dalinti tą narkotiką
Kai žmogus nustoja gerti narkotikus - dingsta
Pasirodo Skeleton King buvo - Kvazit, sutarėm parduoti šmutkes Kel Arin už 3000g.
Prisipirkom armorų ir buvom nusiųsti į monastery už miesto atnešti “red nail”
Išėjom ieškoti Arya draugės - Lyra Valmora (dar nežinom, bet ji - vampire), priėjom crackhouse
Harper sėdo ant “silver”
Išvykome į monastery
monastery - apdaužytas ir išniekintas, statulų akys iškrapštytos
Session 5
2025-12-27
Butis vienas pats, BE NIEKIENO KITO PAGALBOS, ištraukė vinį ir moteris atsibudo
Session 6
2026-01-31
Dabar Butis turi black wound in the chest, black eyes ir sapnavo keistą tiltą
Butis parodė jai savo krūtinę, pasirodo jis dabar priklauso The Black Sun Sect, jam liko gyventi 2 mėnesiai, egzistuoja antidote - jį gali sukurti Halvin, bet jis šiuo metu įkalintas The Chop Shop kalėjime į west of Accardi.
Journal: Three key entries:
-
Entry 1, 3 weeks ago: "Vel'shara has gone too far. The Rite is forbidden for good reason. I've read the histories — it doesn't summon Lolth. It summons whatever is listening in the dark between the webs. I have tried to warn her. She does not hear me."
-
Entry 2, 1 week ago: "The preparations are nearly complete. I cannot stop her. I can only record what happens. The monastery has already changed. I hear things in the walls at night. The novices have started sleepwalking toward the sanctum."
-
Entry 3, the night of the ritual: "She is beginning. Something is wrong. The candles are going out one by one and the cold is—" the writing ends mid-sentence, the quill dragged across the page in a long slash.
Esmeralda rado 3 nesudegusias knygas:
Book A — "A History of the Rite of the Silken Throne" (cover scorched, mostly intact)
A scholarly account of The Rite's only previous use, 400 years ago. A high priest named Ssivrix attempted it. The monastery where he performed it "ceased to exist in the conventional sense" — travelers reported it looked intact from outside, but anyone who entered never returned. The Rite was formally banned by Lolth's high council.
Book C — "Vel'shara's Personal Research Notes" (handwritten, water-stained)
Entry excerpts: "Day 14: The Codex responded to the resonance test. It wants to be opened. This is not concerning — all planar artifacts want things." / "Day 22: I have made contact with the fragment inside. It speaks in images, not words. It showed me a throne of silk that stretches across the dark between stars. I understand now why Lolth banned the Rite. She was afraid of competition." / "Day 28 (final entry): Tonight. The monastery is ready. The monks are ready. I am ready. Lolth gave us darkness. Something older gave us the dark."
Tas su geltonais rūbais - The King in Yellow, kažkoks chaotic individas.
Treasure in Library (Rita rado)
Exorcist Thren — your mission is containment, not destruction. The Codex must be recovered intact. Vel'shara is secondary. Do not let the fragment bond to a host. If it does, the host cannot be saved. It can only be ended. — High Inquisitor Naez
Harper iškeitė artefaktą, kurį rado požemiuose (holy symbol of Lolth) į 5 silver dozes.
Tada Kavax sudealino fasilituot silver shipmentus į Westgate.
Po to nuėjome į rūbų parduotuvę ir nusipirkome fancy noble-like clothes, kad neišsiskirtume eidami į Temple Quarter.
Nuėjome pas Jonathan ir jis mus pravedė pro secret underground passage. Eidami ant sienų matėme dievų piešinius - Sylvanus, Mask, Tempus ir t.t. Taip pat pastebėjome not so fresh but maybe 1-2 days old blood on the wall in spray patterns, cute.
Tada Drena atsistojo prieš altorių, iškėlė rankas į viršų ir pradėjo maldą: “holy warrior sits in the garden we fled, blood into wine take my body instead”.
silver
Silver
- Silver-colored substance distributed in Accardi and intended for wider use in Westgate.
- Described both as a drug and as a weapon.
- Connected to the Red Wizards of Thay, vampire conflict, and later improved formulas.
- By Session 9, Lyra Valmora identifies 3C as a precursor to silver, while the party is also hearing about silver shipments moving toward Westgate.
skeleton ball
Skeleton Ball
- Animated skeletal construct found in the Ruined Monastery crypts.
- This was the creature earlier described in notes as "the thing beneath".
- Created by Kel Arin or his associates to guard Arabella.
- The party killed it.
Skeleton King
Skeleton King
Sky Tomb
Sky Tomb
- Early dungeon and major source of clues.
- Site of the bleeding pit, the riddle door, goblin notes, and the early mystery around Mathesias.
- Connected to later discoveries involving the Skeleton King, dragons, and the road to Accardi.
spiral
Spiral
- Symbol associated with Ashbringer.
- The party has already seen it on a letter and in Project Spiral Memo.
- According to Ashbringer Letter, the red nail acts as a lightning rod for the Spiral.
- It appears to be both a symbol and the name of a larger project watching or shaping events around the party.
- Best synthesis note: Spiral Metaplot.
Spiral Metaplot
Spiral Metaplot
Core chain
The strongest meta-plot thread currently runs through:
satchel -> Drena -> Project Spiral Memo / Script Commentary / Myrella Report -> spiral -> Anchor -> City of Veils -> The King in Yellow
What is currently known
satchel
- The party received it at the start of the campaign with instructions to deliver it to Drena in Accardi.
- It was marked Y.K. on the bottom long before the party understood the reference.
- It later opened only after interaction with the obsidian key and use of the golden key.
- In Session 9, it heated up and produced Myrella Report, implying it remains active as a communications device or remote dropbox.
Documents inside
- Project Spiral Memo treats the party as monitored assets in an active project.
- Script Commentary speaks in meta-textual language about scripts, deleted people, and revised drafts.
- Myrella Report adds surveillance language about anchor signatures, biometric corruption, shapeshifter degradation, and Lyra Valmora as a containment threat.
- Together they imply that the party is inside a manipulated or observed narrative structure, not just an ordinary conspiracy.
spiral
- Appears as both a symbol and the name of a project or force.
- The Ashbringer Letter says the red nail acts as a lightning rod for it.
- This ties the Spiral thread not only to the satchel documents, but also to Ashbringer and cult operations in Accardi.
Anchor
- Project Spiral Memo calls Kavax the party's physical anchor.
- Script Commentary says "they have taken the Anchor to the City of Veils."
- Myrella Report refers to a dimensional anchor signature directly, which makes the term sound less symbolic and more measurable.
- These likely refer to the same underlying concept, but the exact metaphysical meaning is still unresolved.
The King in Yellow
- Seen directly by Light in the Ashbringers Basement Library vision sequence.
- The party later realized that the satchel's Y.K. initials point to him.
- This creates a direct bridge between the oldest satchel clue and the newest deep-ritual revelations.
Why this thread matters
This is the clearest point where:
- party surveillance
- time anomalies
- symbolic cult behavior
- meta-textual reality language
- and the Yellow King imagery
all begin to overlap.
Open questions
- Is spiral a faction project, a cosmological force, a symbol system, or all three?
- Is Kavax literally the Anchor, or only one manifestation of it?
- Is City of Veils another name for Accardi or a separate place?
- How directly is The King in Yellow controlling or influencing the satchel thread?
- Why was the satchel marked Y.K. from the beginning?
- Who is Myrella, and how does she fit into the anchor / satchel network?
- If the satchel can receive uploads remotely, who is actually sending them and from where?
Ssivrix
Ssivrix
- High priest who previously attempted The Rite centuries ago.
- That earlier attempt caused a monastery to stop existing in a conventional sense.
Sylos
Sylos
- Name heard from Kel Arin as a target tied to the hidden entrance into Ashbringers Basement, a basement complex linked to the Ashbringers.
- Spelling is uncertain in the session notes.
- Likely a minor operative or local leader rather than the main figurehead.
Temple Quarter
Temple Quarter
- District of Accardi mentioned in rumors after a black dragon fell nearby.
- This is the same district previously noted as the Religious District.
- By Session 9, it contains the church where the party expects to meet Drena.
- Jonathan can guide people there through hidden underground routes, suggesting the district has both public and covert access paths.
- The party treated it as a high-status zone that required more formal clothing and controlled entry.
The Black Sun Sect
The Black Sun Sect
- Group tied to the curse or transformation affecting Butis.
- Appears in connection with the black wound and a limited survival window.
- Countermeasure may depend on Halvin.
The Chop Shop
The Chop Shop
- Prison west of Accardi.
- Current location of Halvin, who may be able to produce the antidote for the black wound.
The Codex
The Codex
- Dangerous artifact tied to Vel'shara, The Rite, and the fragment.
- Recovery of the Codex is treated as containment priority in the Ashbringers Basement letters.
- May be the main catalyst of the current reality-warping disaster.
The King in Yellow
The King in Yellow
- Figure seen in Light's vision near the void under the Ashbringers Basement Library.
- Associated with yellow robes, and chaotic influence.
- The party later connected him to the initials written on the bottom of the satchel.
- Best synthesis note: Spiral Metaplot.
The Red door - Inn
The Red Door - Inn
- Inn in Accardi.
- The notes mention the door is actually black despite the name.
- Associated with the innkeeper Resa and Kavax's wine shipment plan.
The Rite
The Rite
- Forbidden ritual pursued by Vel'shara.
- Officially banned after an earlier catastrophe involving Ssivrix.
- Central to the changing state of Ashbringers Basement and the activity around The Codex.
The Slums
The Slums
- District of Accardi reached when the party first arrived in the city.
- Serves as an entry point into the city's lower-level contacts and rumors.
Thren
Thren
- Exorcist mentioned in a letter found in the Ashbringers Basement Library.
- Ordered to recover The Codex intact and prevent the fragment from bonding to a host.
Tiefling
Tiefling
- Dead tiefling found with Esmeralda in the pit sequence.
- Carried the canister core and the ornamented dagger.
- Was being questioned about Lyra Valmora before death.
Trevor
Trevor
- Person Harper is trying to contact through the walkie-talkie.
- Presumably connected to the future timeline and the Agenda Avengers.
Underdark
Underdark
- Origin of the stone used for the Lolth statue beneath Ashbringers Basement.
- Important background region for the drow material in the campaign.
Upper City
Upper City
- More prestigious part of Accardi.
- Kel Arin may be able to arrange access to it.
- May overlap with or have been renamed/refined as Upper Quarter, the term used in Session 9 for the permit-controlled high-status district.
Upper Quarter
Upper Quarter
- High-status part of Accardi that required permits or invitations in Session 9.
- Linked to the route that should eventually bring the party to Drena through the city's elite religious and civic space.
- May overlap with or refine the older Upper City terminology, but the exact relationship between the two labels is still unclear.
Val
Val
Summary
- Cryptic contact in Accardi described as seeming both old and young.
- One of the party's clearest sources of occult interpretation.
Known links
- Explained the danger of Butis's black wound.
- Identified links to The Black Sun Sect, Halvin, The Chop Shop, Ashbringer, and improved silver.
- Provided some of the clearest exposition about the city's hidden conflicts, especially the overlap between cult activity, curses, and the wider Westgate situation.
Role in the story
- Val functions less like a normal quest giver and more like an interpreter of dangerous systems the party only partly understands.
- She is a key bridge between the black wound thread and the city's larger supernatural conflicts.
Open questions
- Where does Val's knowledge come from?
- What is her allegiance?
- Why does she know so much about both Ashbringer and the condition affecting Butis?
Vel'shara
Vel'shara
- Drow ritualist tied to the current Ashbringers Basement disaster.
- Pursued the forbidden The Rite using The Codex.
- Her writings describe contact with the fragment and something older than Lolth.
- In Session 9, the party found her mid-transformation into a more monstrous spider-like state and killed her.
walkie-talkie
Walkie-Talkie
Westgate
Westgate
Summary
- Major off-screen city tied to vampires, silver, and the rise of Ashbringer.
- One of the campaign's most important pressure points even though the party has not centered there yet.
Known links
- The campaign appears to begin here during the Westgate Opening Incident.
- Atrium Breach Report suggests the opening incident involved a containment breach, temporal dissonance, and possible archive activity rather than a simple explosion.
- The underground lab / atrium thread may also point to clone breeding or clone production beneath the city.
- Said to be a target of a large-scale silver deployment.
- Linked to trade with Accardi and to growing cult activity.
- The city is associated with the dragon event that elevated Ashbringer.
- Ashbringer Letter shows direct command traffic between Westgate and cult operations in Accardi.
- Project Spiral Memo notes that Sector Westgate remains silent in the search around the Anchor.
Why it matters
- Westgate is where several major threads converge:
- the opening explosion / frozen-time incident
- vampire rule or vampire war
- the public rise of Ashbringer
- cult coordination
- the intended larger rollout of silver
Open questions
- Who actually controls Westgate right now?
- What exactly happened in the Westgate Opening Incident?
- What was released from the archive during the breach?
- How close is the city to full cult capture or full collapse?
- What would happen if the silver plan succeeds there?
Westgate Opening Incident
Westgate Opening Incident
Summary
- The campaign appears to begin in Westgate, somewhere around the central square.
- An explosion hit a major local building - possibly a bank or the mayor's office; the exact target is currently uncertain.
- Time froze for the people around the scene, but not for the party.
- Sela and Rowan emerged from the exploded building, assumed the unfrozen party were their accomplices, and pulled them into the escape route through the sewers.
- Atrium Breach Report suggests the temporal effect may have been caused by a failed containment ritual and temporal dissonance rather than an ordinary blast.
Sewer aftermath
- While moving through the sewers, the party received the satchel and message for Drena from Sela and Rowan before they died.
- The satchel already bore the initials Y.K. on the bottom.
- The sewers also led to an underground laboratory where the party encountered a man who looked exactly like Kavax.
- By Session 9, the party is treating that underground lab / atrium thread as a possible clone breeding site rather than a one-off anomaly.
Kavax double
- The duplicate attacked the party and was killed.
- Kavax later insisted he had no idea what the duplicate was and that he has no twin.
- The setup now looks increasingly like part of a larger cloning pipeline or breeding ground under Westgate, though that remains unconfirmed.
- The duplicate may be relevant to later Anchor and "biological redundant (TWIN)" references in Project Spiral Memo, but that connection is not proven.
- A separate Kavax Framing Thread also exists, involving someone who looked like Kavax and used his signature on a shipping contract.
Open questions
- What building actually exploded?
- Who caused the freeze in time?
- Why was the party unaffected?
- Who or what was the Kavax lookalike in the underground lab?
- Was the atrium / underground lab actually being used as clone breeding grounds?
- What was released from the central archive?
- What was under the cathedral?
Yara
Yara
- Moth keeper associated with Candlecrypt in Accardi.
- Another good follow-up NPC if the party returns there.
